Software Developer

Medinet — Vancouver, BC (Hybrid or Remote Position)
Salary: $95,000 – $115,000 CAD

Medinet is looking for a Software Developer who wants to write great code, solve real problems, and help modernize product and services that matter to Canadian frontline healthcare workers.

You’ll work mostly in PHP and Java within a Linux + MySQL environment, with a steady flow of API integrations and modernization of legacy PERL systems. This role is hands-on (~80% coding) — perfect for someone who loves building, improving, and going deep in the codebase.

What you’ll do

• Develop new features and maintain existing systems
• Modernize and refactor legacy components
• Implement and support API integrations
• Work directly in PHP and Java
• Use Linux and MySQL to build and improve system performance
• Collaborate closely with the CTO and development team

What you bring

• 5 years of experience in software development
• Solid experience with Linux
• Experience with Windows Server administration (mixed Linux and Windows server environment)
• Strong PHP and Java coding ability
• Experience with Perl is a plus
• Solid experience with MySQL, other DB’s like Redis, Memcached, MongoDB is a plus
• Experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes is a plus
• Experience with Git, GitHub, GitLab or similar
• Solid experience with APIs and system integrations
• Comfort working with legacy code
• Ability to work independently and stay organized
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Curious, pragmatic problem-solver mindset, wanting to learn something new every day

Assets:

• Healthcare or public-sector experience (helpful, not required)
